Product Description
Radiation Resistance Tester Radiation Detection
1.Product Introduction
The GA-5F radiation resistance tester is a detection device suitable for testing the UV resistance of various laminated glass products, such as automotive laminated glass, architectural laminated glass, and fire-resistant glass. It is widely used in deep-processed glass enterprises and quality supervision and inspection departments at all levels.
Equipment structure and working principle
This instrument uses an ozone-free quartz tube medium-pressure mercury vapor arc lamp as the radiation light source to irradiate laminated glass, determining whether obvious discoloration or reduction in transmittance occurs after the glass is irradiated for a period. As shown in the figure, the instrument consists of a power supply, UV lamp, sample drum, motor, speed reducer, control circuit, etc. The UV lamp is vertically placed on the vertical central axis of the sample drum inside the instrument. Driven by the motor and speed reducer, the sample drum can rotate around the vertical axis. The test samples are placed on the inner wall of the sample drum and receive uniform radiation illumination through the drum's rotation. The control circuit regulates the irradiation time and the temperature inside the instrument chamber to meet test requirements.
Operating Method
1. Clean the sample with a cotton ball soaked in anhydrous ethanol. First, test the sample's transmittance according to the method in GB5137.2, then place the sample in the sample bucket of this tester and close the sample chamber door.
2. Adjust the time and temperature regulators on the instrument control panel to set the irradiation time and the test temperature of the sample.
3. Connect the power supply of the instrument, press the "Power" button to turn on the main power switch of the instrument.
4. Press the "UV Lamp" button to light up the UV lamp tube.
5. Press the "Sample Bucket" button to start the rotation of the sample bucket.
6. Press the "Temperature" button to activate the temperature control function. When the temperature inside the chamber exceeds the set temperature, the axial flow fan on the top of the instrument will automatically start to dissipate heat to achieve a constant temperature.
7. Press the "Timer" button to start the timer. When the running time reaches the preset time, all operations will stop, but the main power will remain on standby.
8. Press the "Power" button to turn off the instrument.
9. Open the sample chamber door, take out the sample, and test the transmittance of the sample after irradiation.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting of the Instrument
1. Due to the high power of the UV lamp, the power transformer will generate a relatively high temperature. This instrument is designed with a ventilation channel for the transformer to dissipate heat. Therefore, when placing the instrument indoors, it should be kept at least 20 cm away from the wall to facilitate heat dissipation.
2. The transformer has a magnetic saturation characteristic. Therefore, after turning off the UV lamp, it needs to wait for a few minutes before turning it on again; otherwise, the UV lamp cannot be lit.
