DSY-II Carbon (Graphite) Air Permeability Tester air tester Air Leak Detector
This instrument is used to measure the permeability coefficient (i.e. air permeability) of carbon materials based on GB/T9973-2006 Carbon Materials Air Permeability Test Method.
The permeability coefficient of carbon materials refers to the permeability coefficient calculated by measuring the decay rate of the vacuum degree in the sample in the air.
1. Instruments and equipment
Vacuum test device: Use a vacuum pump to extract the air from the sample. 2. Sample fixture: The sample fixture should ensure that the gas can only pass through the pores of the sample without leaking from the edge of the sample.
2. Sample preparation
1. The two bottom surfaces of the sample must be parallel. The surface of the specimen shall be free of cracks, blisters and obvious uneven defects.
The surface of the specimen must be cleaned of dust and debris and dried at 110°C for 2 hours.
2. Each group shall have no less than two specimens.
3. Test steps
Put the sample into the corresponding fixture, seal both ends with silicone pads, and tighten with bolts to ensure the sealing of both ends. Then turn on the "power switch", open the vacuum valve, close the "inlet valve", and start the vacuum pump. Then open the computer software and click "Test". When the computer data shows normal, click "Stop" and click "Enter System" to enter the test interface. Enter the height value and inner hollow diameter of the sample, set the test time, and the time interval for collecting data. When the air inside the sample reaches vacuum, close the "vacuum" valve, stop the vacuum pump, click "Start Test", and the computer will automatically time the test. When the set time is reached, the test will end. Click "Save Data" and "Generate Report". Open the "air inlet valve" to take out the sample.

2.Calculation of results
Calculate the sample permeability coefficient according to the following formula.
For cylindrical specimens:
dp·v·L K = ----------- dt·A·△P V--Void volume inside the sample (mm); L--sample height (mm); A--effective area of air passing through the sample (mm2); dp/dt - pressure increase rate per unit time (MPa/s); △P--Air pressure (0.1MP); |
If the difference in K values
obtained from two measurements of the same sample is ≤5%, their average value shall be used as the test result.
Take their average value as the final test result. Otherwise, the actual measurement results will be reported.
