1.2 Overview
GA-116 monochromatic excited wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence trace sulfur meter, referred to as GA-116 MWDXRF trace sulfur meter, is the company's collection of decades of X-ray fluorescence spectrometer research experience, The company's first point-to-point monochromatic excited XRF spectrometer was developed on the basis of the company's original DM series X-ray fluorescence sulfur analyzer, X-ray fluorescence multi-element analyzer, wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence multichannel spectrometer, etc. It uses the following technologies and devices to make the GA-116 with 50W optical tube with excellent reproducibility and stability, low detection limits, and has actually taken the detection level to a new level.
Point-to-point focusing monochromatic excited wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (MWDXRF) analysis technique
The Limit Of Detection (LOD) of X-ray fluorescence spectrometer refers to the corresponding amount of 3 times the standard deviation of the instrument background signal generated by the matrix blank, namely:

GA-116 uses point-to-point focused Monochromatic Excitation Beam Wavelength Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence analysis technology, That is, a point-to-point focusing optical device is used in the excitation optical path to monochromatize the emission spectrum of the X-ray tube to reduce the continuous scattering background of the sample fluorescence spectrum, and at the same time, three-dimensional focusing is achieved to increase the intensity of the required monochromatized line or narrow energy band of the excited X-ray to improve the sensitivity. In the detection optical path, another point-to-point focusing optical device is used to split the fluorescence spectrum for high-resolution detection, and three-dimensional focusing is realized to increase the intensity of the characteristic fluorescence lines of the sample to be collected to improve the sensitivity, thus greatly reducing the detection limit. It is 1 to 2 orders of magnitude lower than the traditional EDXRF, and much lower than the traditional high-power (such as 4kw) WDXRF.

High diffraction efficiency logarithmic spiral rotation point-to-point focusing artificial monochromatic crystals

According to its surface, DCC can be divided into half focusing (Johann), full focusing (Johansson) and Logarithmic Spiral. Among them, half focus only partially satisfies the diffraction conditions, which is the worst. Although full focusing is fully meet the diffraction conditions and is point-to-point focusing, but its manufacturing process is extremely complex, in addition to bending it must have a grinding to R surface process, natural crystals are very difficult to grind, and artificial crystals are impossible to grind. In addition, natural crystals are usually too monochromatic, resulting in only a part of the characteristic X-rays of the target being diffracted, and the integral diffraction rate is low.

GA-116 using logarithmic spiral rotating hyperboloid artificial crystal DM30L, is the company's technical elite after 2 years of hard research and development of patented products. The logarithmic spiral DCC also fully satisfies the diffraction condition, although the focus is not point-to-point, but opposite the point, but because the surface is small, it can be considered point-to-point. It uses a DM intraocular lens, which has an integral diffraction rate three to 10 times that of natural crystals. In addition, it only needs to bend without grinding and splicing, making it easy to manufacture.

Micro focal spot thin beryllium window X-ray tube with reasonable combination of kV, mA and target

The closer the X-ray energy of the excited sample is to the absorption limit of the element to be analyzed, the higher the excitation efficiency. The DM30L crystal diffracts only the high-intensity characteristic X-rays in the emission spectrum of the X-ray tube, which are emitted by the target. Therefore, reasonable selection of target materials can obtain the highest excitation efficiency. After selecting the target, in the case of a certain maximum power of the X-ray optical tube, such as 50W, a reasonable combination of high voltage (KV) and current (MA) of the optical tube can achieve the maximum excitation efficiency. Due to point-to-point focusing, X-ray tubes with microfocal spots must be used. Since the characteristic X-ray energy of the target is very low, thin beryllium window X-ray tubes must be used.
GA-116 adopts Ag target 50W micro focal spot thin beryllium window X-ray tube, and reasonable combination of kV and mA.


1.3 Scope of application
It is suitable for refineries, testing and certification bodies, tanks, laboratories to measure various oil products from 1ppm to 10% (such as gasoline, diesel, heavy oil, residual fuel oil, etc.), additives, lubricants containing additives, and the measurement of S element in products during refining and chemical processes.
It is also suitable for the measurement of S element in any material in all walks of life

2. Product Parameter


The correlation coefficient γ of the working curve is greater than 0.999, indicating that the linear error of GA-116 sulfur tester is very small.
2.1 Accuracy
To further test the accuracy of the analysis, five samples of diesel and light oil with different sulfur contents were prepared and each sample was placed into two different sample cups for the S-accuracy test:

Table 1 shows the measured concentration results (ppm) and the comparison to the nominal values. These results indicate that at low concentration levels, excellent accuracy of S can be achieved with the GA-116 spectrometer.

S-repeatability tests were performed on three gasoline samples, each filled with seven different sample cups:
